Today, we’d like to introduce you to Anna Resende.

Hi Anna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi! I’m an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach certified by IIN – Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I love to use my passion for nature, nutrition, and cooking to help people find a lifestyle of lasting health and wellness.

Like many, my former life was in the corporate world. I got a Chemical Engineering degree back in 1995 and worked in the manufacturing industry for the following 27 years, most of the time with continuous improvement. During my job search before moving to Maryville – TN, a colleague suggested Health Coaching as a profession for me. When I first saw IIN’s curriculum for the Health Coach Training Program, I was in love at first sight. All the things that I’m passionate about were listed there. I felt as if the program was tailored for me.

Two days later, I was registered, and 6 months later, I graduated. I had the first sign that the universe had orchestrated the whole career change for me during my very first class. Before starting the training, I had made a matching tattoo with my son of a yin and yang symbol. Then, in my first class, I learned that the yin and yang symbol is the core of IIN’s Integrative Coaching Method.

That was my first realization that nothing happens by chance. At that very moment, I strongly felt that I had taken the right path. As the training progressed, I was certain that I’d found my calling. My years working as a continuous improvement engineer had been a setup for my health coaching career.

I started my business – Mamma Terra Health Coaching, shortly after my graduation in March 2023. With a mission of doing my share to create a future where ailments are scarce, making the world a better place for generations to come, I’m now educating and guiding individuals on how to cultivate healthy habits that will enable them to live long, vibrant lives.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Making a career change at the age of 50 is not easy, but the sense of alignment that I feel now that I’m living my calling is worth every penny not earned.

The biggest struggle so far was having to wear all the hats. I could get by with everything else but marketing. I was not a social media person, but I needed to create an online presence.

So, I had to learn how the platforms work and still create all the content to deliver to my subscribers. I’m still learning and improving as I go.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
Mamma Terra’s mission is to contribute to a future where ailments are scarce, making the world a better place for generations to come.

I envision achieving this mission through educating and guiding individuals on how to cultivate healthy habits that will enable them to live long, vibrant lives. By imparting invaluable knowledge and providing unwavering support, I empower my clients to take charge of their well-being and embrace a life of wellness.

Rooted in a set of core values, Mamma Terra Health Coaching upholds the principles of integrity, wellness, communion, and love. These values form the foundation of my approach, ensuring that clients receive the utmost care and guidance on their transformative journey toward optimal health. I strive to create a healthier world, one individual at a time.

As a free resource, I offer a weekly newsletter for those who want to get their toes wet. I carefully select topics to share weekly, including health and wellness tips, one recipe, and one book recommendation. I also have a free e-book where I talk about all the fundamentals of multidimensional health and how to fit self-care into a routine. My blog is also a big part of what I do. I have been writing about all my amazing discoveries to give people insights and resources to start their own journey.

I also recently launched a Podcast – Good is What Makes You Feel Well, where I share my discoveries while having deep, meaningful conversations with my awesome guests. The podcast is available on all platforms.

As far as paid programs, I currently offer 1×1 coaching for young adults and parents alike and group coaching for high school seniors and college freshmen. For kids 8-10 years old, I have a permanent offer of a Nature Walk Summer Camp in June and July.

The cornerstone of Nature Walk – Mamma Terra’s signature program, is the (re)connection to nature, mind, body, spirit, and community that are just adapted to the specific age group. Nature walk symbolizes a walk back home to our roots, where nature is the main provider.

Mamma Terra means Mother Earth, and I’m proud of using nature as the source of knowledge and healing power, whether talking about nutrition, stress management, sleep hygiene, or physical activity in my programs.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see the wellness industry shifting completely to the holistic, natural side of healing. The ancient modalities used by our ancestors for thousands of years have come back to remind us to trust nature and the universe’s wisdom. Those holistic modalities will continue to grow in the lifespan of 5-10 years. I foresee more and more people adopting those practices for their healing and joining this movement. Together, we will change the global health crisis we’re in now.

Another big shift I see is in agriculture – from a few monoculture businesses to plenty of small polyculture farms. Pockets of permaculture micro-farms are already visible all around the world, and in 5-10 years, I see this technique as the dominant form of growing food. This will enable us to regenerate the soil and have an abundance of healthy food.
